Walnut Capital opening Irwin office
April 22, 2002

Walnut Capital Real Estate Services Inc. said it will open an office in Irwin, Westmoreland County, May 1.
The Irwin office, which will be the firm's second, will help home buyers secure properties for low down payments. Walnut expects many of the office's client to be former tenants of its rental properties. The office will be located in a housing property that Walnut manages.

"When our tenants are ready to become homeowners they already have a positive relationship with (us)" said Susan Lesczynski, who will lead the Irwin office.

Walnut said it expects the office to have a staff of four when it opens and that the office may employ as many as 10 by the end of the year.

Shadyside-based Walnut is a real estate management, development and brokerage firm. It has closed or developed more than $130 million in real estate since 1998, and it manages more than 1,000 multifamily residential units in the Pittsburgh area.
