An Incredible Historic Renovation
To an Iconic Building in East Liberty.
Walnut on Highland and The Penn were two separate development projects that make up a single apartment community with multiple buildings. In 2012, Walnut Capital bought the neglected 13-story historic Highland building in East Liberty and rehabilitated the treasure into 116 apartment units with historic preservation measures in place. In 2016, phase two was complete when The Penn, a new six-story building wrapping the corner of Penn and S Highland Avenue, welcomed residents to 78 apartment units on upper floors and restaurant and retail tenants in the ground-level spaces.
