Pittsburgh's Summer Markets You Don't Want to Miss

Pittsburgh's Summer Markets You Don't Want to Miss
One of the greatest ways to meet more people in Pittsburgh is to attend a few of the many markets that are put on across the city.  Full of local makers and community members, the neighborhood markets allow you to dive into the heart of Pittsburgh’s neighborhoods and meet the people that make these communities great. You’d be surprised just how many neighborhoods across Pittsburgh hold their own flea and farmer’s markets throughout the summer and even into winter!

Let’s take a look at a few markets happening in Pittsburgh throughout the summer!

I Made It! Market

Running for over a decade, I Made It! Market is a Pittsburgh staple that connects the community to local businesses at their year round markets. What makes this market unique is that it pops up in different parts of the city in order to satisfy the local shopping needs of many neighborhoods. From SouthSide to Ross Park to Bakery Square, I Made It! Market brings handcrafted goods, artwork and food to our communities. Check out their website here to see where they will be next!

The Neighborhood Flea

Another great addition to the Pittsburgh market scene is The Neighborhood Flea. From the owner of I Made It! Market, The Neighborhood Flea is an open air market taking place in the Strip District. Head to 26th and Railroad streets on second Sundays from May through October for food, vintage finds and more! This flea market truly has it all! Whether you are on the hunt for a vintage decor piece or are looking for a unique present for friends and family. Local makers come together to showcase all of the talent that Pittsburgh has to offer. Don’t forget to grab lunch at one of the rotating food trucks or beverage from a local seller while you shop around! For more information click here!

The Bloomfield Saturday Market

Looking for some locally grown produce or handmade baked goods? The Bloomfield Saturday Market has all of that and more. Running from May 8th through November 20th at 5050 Liberty Avenue, this market showcases dozens of local farmers, foragers and food producers. Find that specialty item that will take your meal to the next level and meet some amazing locals along the way! Don’t forget to grab a breakfast biscuit at Wise County Biscuits to enjoy while you shop. I promise it's worth the wait! Click here for a full list of vendors and more information about their winter market later this year.

No matter what you are looking for, I can guarantee you that Pittsburgh’s many flea and farmers markets can provide. Make sure to get to know some of these makers and businesses while you shop and let them know just how much our community appreciates them!
