A Midsummer Night's Dream in Harlem
February 2-19 | O'Reilly Theater
"The course of true love never did run smooth…" In this heightened and hilarious retelling of the Bard’s most magical romantic comedy, Resident Director Justin Emeka draws upon the art and music of the Harlem Renaissance to inject Shakespeare's beloved story with new life and humor, contemporary fashions and ancient rituals. In this adaptation, the world of mischievous fairies, lovelorn Athenians, and rude mechanicals is our world and celebrates Black culture with imaginative influences from around the globe. For Shakespeare scholars and visionaries alike, this production is the stuff that dreams are made on.

Vanisha Gould Quartet

Vanisha Gould came to New York in 2015 from Simi Valley, California. Inspired by artists like Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Joni Mitchell, Carmen McRae and Ella Fitzgerald – Vanisha has successfully curated her own sound as a composer and band leader. Performing originals and music from the Great American Songbook on several groundbreaking stages both in New York and overseas, she aspires to continue sharing her voice with audiences in New York and beyond.

The Epic Story of Basketball's Forgotten Era with Claude Johnson

Presented by the History Center’s African American Program, this in-person program will be led by Claude Johnson, the founder of the Black Fives Foundation, who spent decades researching Black basketball history and its impact for his book, “The Black Fives: The Epic Story of Basketball’s Forgotten Era.” 

The Collaboration Festival

Join us for a very special public perfromance of our Colaboration Festival Porgram! This dynamic performance follows the journey of a solo artisit who learns about tht epower of collaboration and community. This performance engages the audience with a variety of opportuiities for interaction throughout and features porofessional African American artisits from the Pittsburgh region. All ages are welcome!

Pittsburgh Winter Beer Fest 2023

The Annual Pittsburgh Winter Beer Fest returns February 23-24. Enjoy HUNDREDS of Craft Beers and THOUSANDS of Craft Beer fans, along with local food trucks & restaurants! Let's show everyone how much Pittsburgh loves craft beer, as this is one of the largest beer events in the nation!

Flamingo Fest

Conquer Your Closet: BKSQ Annual Clothing Drive
Ends February 27th | Bakery Square
It's officially time to Reduce, Renew, and Recycle your closet! Take part in Bakery Square's Annual Clothing Drive from Sunday, January 1st through Monday, February 27th. We are collecting new and gently used clothing to benefit Thriftique. Donations can be dropped off at the all Bakery Square Offices (One, Two and Three) or the Conservatory.

Thursday Pub Runs

Join us every Thursday evening at 6:30 PM for a run from Fleet Feet Bakery Square! All participants receive $2 off their first drink at Galley- Bakery Square after the run. More information can be found here.
